Literature Text

You’re always there for me

Yet you push me away

“I’m not good enough”

“I’ll hurt you”

Is all you manage to say

“You don’t know me!”

Is what you shout

It’s really me you know nothing about

You’ve never seen the other me

The one who will destroy you

And leave you with nothing

The person who will rip, tear and belittle everything you do

This person picks at the fresh wound

And often wishes for your doom.

It’s amazing though, when she hides her face

She only does it when you and I are in the same place

She hides from you, like a vampire from the sun

And fails to visit after we’re done

I often wondered:

“Does she hate you for doing this to her?”

Because when I try to remember all the rage, it becomes a blur

All the bad memories fade to black

And when I open my eyes I see that your back.

You’re still with me

And still unaware

Of the devil lying next to you there

Seeing you smile softens my heart

You’re gentle eyes make me weep

Because by now I know you’re not mine to keep

The flow is a bit off and I'd like to hear a little more detail in your wording. The quotes make it a little confusing, especially in a poem; but, I've done it before, too. Nice work of art overall though, I enjoyed the read. c:
